Spartan II's - For The Future by AngelCostumes Spartan II's - For The Future by AngelCostumes
So this is a pretty funny picture if you're a fan of the Halo universe...

Okay, some back-story...I was invited to attend ConComics last year in Guadalajara, Mexico. While there, someone asked if I would hold their baby for a picture, and for a Halo/Sci-Fi fan, I figured it would a pretty big deal and something they'll always remember...I know people took pictures of it, but knowing NO ONE there, I never saw the photo (and on top of that, had no clue where to look for one).

Come this year, Acen 2010, it happened again. A pretty chill guy came up and asked me for a photo which I was more than happy to oblige...and then he added, "Can I have a picture with you holding my baby?"

Score. This time I had :iconshiroin: there to capture the moment.

SO YEAH...about those Spartan II's...(for anyone who doesn't follow the Halo universe, the Spartan II's were kids who showed strong physical traits, and were kidnapped to be turned into spartans...which is why this picture is kind of hilarious if you get it...lol)

Also, this photo was featured on Kotaku - [link]

Daisy from Halo Legends is me :iconasukabmz:.

THe armor itself was all hand-made using Pepakura patterns to build the base, then fiberglassing the pieces and using a body filler to smooth out all the pieces.

I would like to know... Where did you get your armor? Did you build/make it yourself, or is it a custom ordered piece?

:D

AWESOME Armor! I just finished building my own...
I really love how each person puts their own touches on their armor.

Yours, of course.... looks a lot better than mine :( But I am also perfectly happy with my own :)

Great job, keep it up!

How costly? I understand it'd be well over a hundred.

Honestly, for a set made from the HD models, I don't think I could do it for less than around $1500. It takes a good while to build one (like 3 months) and I'm looking at at least $300 in supplies.

This set was actually all hand made by myself. There are a lot of sites out there who focus around Spartan armor building...I can hook you up with a link if you're interested.

There's a lot there, but if you stick to the "creation discussion" boards, you should be able to learn a lot!

And thank you! :D

If someone made it out of metal they would be bulletproof, has anyone attempted to make it out of metal?

Not seriously...at least none that I've heard of. The "craziest" thing I've heard was people trying to use Kevlar and carbon fiber...but that's quite a bit overkill IMO...it's just a costume :P
